My New Gallery Wall

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!  It is hard to believe 2015 is coming to a close, what a great year it has been.  It is hard to believe everything that has happened in one year.  There have been many up's and many downs but my heart is full of gratitude for all your love and support.  It is so encouraging to be part of such a great community of friends and co-workers.  I am looking forward to a great year with so many new fun things in store.  I can't wait to share them all with you.

I have been collecting frames for quite some time now.  So, I decided it was time to give up this gallery wall and put my gold frames to good use.

Here it is with all my gold/collected frames.

Look at their amazing details.  I love they are all different but yet they all go together so well.
I got this beautiful burlap LOVE print from Mr and Missis and I just love the texture it adds to my wall.

I am now cutting out words for walls and decorations.  I love the collected look and I wanted this family sign to reflect that, I combined various fonts to achieve the collected look.   This family if up for sale as well as the option to order your last name or a child's name for your walls in my Etsy Shop.   I also carry reclaimed elements and frames for your gallery wall!

I bought the L at Michael's and as luck would have it, it was the perfect color to go with this frame

I used reclaimed wood to fill in these 2 frames.  I love the color and chippyness of the reclaimed wood, they add so much character to this wall.

Tour Of My Living Room

Welcome to our home!
I don't have a formal living room....they seemed to always collect dust and I needed an office.  So we converted our living room into an office.  It was the perfect solution for us, and I really love having it here!
This photo is taken with my back to my front door, so this picture gives you a better idea of how my house is laid out.  On the other side of my gallery wall is our dining table!  I do love how open our main floor is, you can be in any room and know what is going on around you.

I didn't go too crazy with my Christmas decor this year, but I wanted to added touches of Christmas to each room.

We have never had a place to hang stockings before or matching stockings for that matter.  You can imagine my excitement to now have stockings and a place to hang them!  I refinished this shelf and added some hooks.  I also made these stocking out of linen and lace!

I love this advent calendar.  I fill each door with either a treat or a fun Christmas activity, like draw your grandparents a Christmas picture or sing a Christmas Carol to your neighbors.  My girls have loved it and it has helped to contain the excitement.

And of course I have to sneak in some fresh flowers, especially in the winter.  They help with the dreary days, and who doesn't love cinnamon scented pinecones.  They smell so delicious!

Christmas Birthday Party

We got the best Christmas present 7 years ago.  Doctors had told us the chances of us having children  on our own together were not very good.  You can imagine our excitement when I took that pregnancy test and it was positive!  Come to find out I was due on Christmas Day!!  Words cannot even explain how grateful we are to have her as part of our family.  Luckily she made her debut we week early.

This year I asked her what kind of a party she wanted, I always try to put in extra effort to her birthday so it doesn't get too lost in the shuffle of Christmas.  When she told me she wanted a red and green party I was relieved, I can handle that!

I swapped our center piece out with lots of goodies!

White and chocolate cake donuts are a family favorite.

I made red velvet cupcakes with green frosting and sprinkles

My husband picked up these delicious cookies from Parson's, a local bakery!  They are delicious, I may have already tried one.

I bought some balloons, M&M's and Hersey Kisses.  I filled in around the dishes with cedar branches and ornaments.

We are ready for the party!!

Word Cutouts

I am happy to announce I am now selling word cutouts!  I have been in love with these things for a very long time, so you can imagine my excitement when my husband decided it would be a good idea to buy the machine!  EEK!!

I have had so much fun designing and cutting them out.  Well, fun and frustration.  I definitely have a large learning curve on figuring out how to use my machine, and I still have A LOT to learn!  But for now I have mastered cutting out words.

As you may know, I love the collected look.  I wanted  my style to show in my cutouts.  This family is made from different fonts I put together, and I love how it looks on my gallery wall!  This family is 24 inches x 15 inches.  I painted it with DecoArts Chalky Finish in Vintage and used their gold wax for the edges.

These cutouts are made from 1/4 inch MDF and come ready for you to decorate anyway you want.

I love how they look in my frames, just beautiful...he he!

I used a napkin to finish this one!  I thought it was going to be so much harder than it was.  I used mod podge and then laid my napkin over the top and lightly pushed it down.  Once it has dried I used sand paper to lightly sand the edges.  And look how awesome it looks!!

and of course I had to glitter a few!  This beautiful dream is going in my daughters room!  I love how they letters look glittered.  I covered the entire thing with Elmer's glue and then I dumped glitter over the top.  I did this 2 times for good coverage.  Then to seal the glitter in I sprayed it all with clear coat.

Head over to my Etsy store to check out more fun cutouts!

My Christmas Tour..

I am a little slow at getting my house all decorated for Christmas.....  We took a family vacation to Disneyland the first week of December and I can't seem to catch all the way up!
But I am happy to say my house is finally all decorated for Christmas.

Welcome to my Christmas tour lets start in my entry way.
We don't have a mantle and we have never had matching stockings.  Until now!
I decided it was time to retire the mis matched Disney character stocking and find a place to hang some new ones.

This shelf has been hanging out in my garage for the last few years it was black and broken, I painted it, added some beadboard and hooks and now it is the perfect spot for stockings.

I made these stockings out of linen.  I added some lace and ribbon to them for bit of elegance.

I love to add vintage elements to my decor whenever I can.  This girl was my husbands grandmothers and I just love her.  She always finds a spot every year.

In my kitchen I added some fresh cedar with red ornaments to my shelves.

I created this fun centerpiece for our table.

I am in love with nutcrackers and pom poms this year!

Notice anything wrong with the above picture?
Oh that is right, my star is falling off my tree...oops!

I made this box for my tres to sit in this year.  A tree skirt has need on my list for years now and I just can't talk myself into making one, I am feeling good I made stockings.  So I decided to make a box instead.  I love how it turned out!

I added a book page garland and tucked a few strands of burlap in for a more rustic look.  I bet you wouldn't guess almost all my ornaments are from the dollar store.  With the exception of the big red ornaments and the stars, but I bought those on clearance!

I saved the best for last.  My Nativity is my favorite decoration of all.  My husband surprised me one year with the full set and I always get excited when we start pulling them out of the box.  It is a reminder that Christ is the reason for the season!

Thank you for visiting!!  I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!
