Christmas Birthday Party

We got the best Christmas present 7 years ago.  Doctors had told us the chances of us having children  on our own together were not very good.  You can imagine our excitement when I took that pregnancy test and it was positive!  Come to find out I was due on Christmas Day!!  Words cannot even explain how grateful we are to have her as part of our family.  Luckily she made her debut we week early.

This year I asked her what kind of a party she wanted, I always try to put in extra effort to her birthday so it doesn't get too lost in the shuffle of Christmas.  When she told me she wanted a red and green party I was relieved, I can handle that!

I swapped our center piece out with lots of goodies!

White and chocolate cake donuts are a family favorite.

I made red velvet cupcakes with green frosting and sprinkles

My husband picked up these delicious cookies from Parson's, a local bakery!  They are delicious, I may have already tried one.

I bought some balloons, M&M's and Hersey Kisses.  I filled in around the dishes with cedar branches and ornaments.

We are ready for the party!!

Word Cutouts

I am happy to announce I am now selling word cutouts!  I have been in love with these things for a very long time, so you can imagine my excitement when my husband decided it would be a good idea to buy the machine!  EEK!!

I have had so much fun designing and cutting them out.  Well, fun and frustration.  I definitely have a large learning curve on figuring out how to use my machine, and I still have A LOT to learn!  But for now I have mastered cutting out words.

As you may know, I love the collected look.  I wanted  my style to show in my cutouts.  This family is made from different fonts I put together, and I love how it looks on my gallery wall!  This family is 24 inches x 15 inches.  I painted it with DecoArts Chalky Finish in Vintage and used their gold wax for the edges.

These cutouts are made from 1/4 inch MDF and come ready for you to decorate anyway you want.

I love how they look in my frames, just beautiful...he he!

I used a napkin to finish this one!  I thought it was going to be so much harder than it was.  I used mod podge and then laid my napkin over the top and lightly pushed it down.  Once it has dried I used sand paper to lightly sand the edges.  And look how awesome it looks!!

and of course I had to glitter a few!  This beautiful dream is going in my daughters room!  I love how they letters look glittered.  I covered the entire thing with Elmer's glue and then I dumped glitter over the top.  I did this 2 times for good coverage.  Then to seal the glitter in I sprayed it all with clear coat.

Head over to my Etsy store to check out more fun cutouts!

My Christmas Tour..

I am a little slow at getting my house all decorated for Christmas.....  We took a family vacation to Disneyland the first week of December and I can't seem to catch all the way up!
But I am happy to say my house is finally all decorated for Christmas.

Welcome to my Christmas tour lets start in my entry way.
We don't have a mantle and we have never had matching stockings.  Until now!
I decided it was time to retire the mis matched Disney character stocking and find a place to hang some new ones.

This shelf has been hanging out in my garage for the last few years it was black and broken, I painted it, added some beadboard and hooks and now it is the perfect spot for stockings.

I made these stockings out of linen.  I added some lace and ribbon to them for bit of elegance.

I love to add vintage elements to my decor whenever I can.  This girl was my husbands grandmothers and I just love her.  She always finds a spot every year.

In my kitchen I added some fresh cedar with red ornaments to my shelves.

I created this fun centerpiece for our table.

I am in love with nutcrackers and pom poms this year!

Notice anything wrong with the above picture?
Oh that is right, my star is falling off my tree...oops!

I made this box for my tres to sit in this year.  A tree skirt has need on my list for years now and I just can't talk myself into making one, I am feeling good I made stockings.  So I decided to make a box instead.  I love how it turned out!

I added a book page garland and tucked a few strands of burlap in for a more rustic look.  I bet you wouldn't guess almost all my ornaments are from the dollar store.  With the exception of the big red ornaments and the stars, but I bought those on clearance!

I saved the best for last.  My Nativity is my favorite decoration of all.  My husband surprised me one year with the full set and I always get excited when we start pulling them out of the box.  It is a reminder that Christ is the reason for the season!

Thank you for visiting!!  I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!
